Warwick Politics Society

September 19, 2022 by jimmy

Graduates of Environment, Politics, and Society have gone on to work for governments, environmental non-governmental organisations and consultancies, multi-lateral bodies, the media and think tanks, often in policy, research or communication roles. International applicants can find out the equivalent qualification for their country by selecting from the list below. Please note that the equivalency will correspond to the broad UK degree classification stated on this page (e.g. upper second-class). Where a specific overall percentage is required in the UK qualification, the international equivalency will be higher than that stated below. Most of our activities take place in and around Warwick, but we also host an international tour.

You should submit academic essays on any subject or theme within the discipline of politics but preferably ones that relate to your proposed field of study. For more information about course fees and fee liability, ffs-dz.com please see the Fees section of this website. EU applicants should refer to our detailed fee status information and the Oxford and the EU webpage for details of the implications of the UK’s exit from the EU.

You’ll be able to choose between performing an already-existing text/score or devising/writing/composing your own work. The module is broad enough to reflect a range of contemporary practices, yet focused enough to provide a space for in-depth development of skills in and understanding of acting. By choosing this specialism, you will critically engage with experiencing, making and reflecting upon performance at the boundaries and between genres. You will explore performance that might take unconventional and or radical forms and actions and that plays with liveness, interaction and immediacy. This module is designed to give students a detailed overview of American Theatre in the 20th Century- its texts and contexts.

Past international tour locations have included Lisbon, Budapest, Amsterdam, and Brussels (of course!). This year’s locations are yet to be announced, but watch out for more information during Welcome Week – you won’t want to miss it. From House of Commons Parliamentary Papers to Victorian self-help heroes, discover resources that support learning about citizenship, politics and society. This programme will equip you to become a leader in the public, private and the not-for-profit sectors in preparing for, and responding to, climate change.

  • You will focus particularly on developing your skills as a facilitator/workshop leader.
  • Outside of meetings, we write articles weekly about issues that we are passionate about, hold fun, exciting, and inclusive socials, and attend interesting talks held by guest speakers.
  • Any reliance you place on such information is therefore strictly at your own risk.

A Pub Quiz in Week 2 and Roundtable Debates where you can debate with tables of students to your heart’s content. The BA in Drama and Theatre Arts is designed to foster creative, radical theatre-makers and thinkers. Graduates of this programme have progressed to post-graduate teaching and masters courses, as well as paid work in drama facilitation, journalism, TV scriptwriting, and academia. If your fees are not listed here, please check our undergraduate fees guidance or contact the Fees Office, who can also advise you about how to pay your fees. From August 2021 EU/EEA/Swiss nationals will no longer be eligible for ‘Home’ fee status. EU/EEA/Swiss nationals will be classified as ‘International’ for fee purposes, more information can be found on our fees page.

The foundation of your career

This module addresses historical and contemporary links between avant garde theatre practices and political activism. It expands and deepens the study of artistic practices begun in Modernisms and Postmodernity A, with a focus on the activist elements of theatrical movements and parallel political organisations. The focus will be on workshop facilitation and students will be assessed on this core vocational skill. This module will focus on the relationship between play, plays and playing in socially-engaged and political theatre. ‘Play’ as a concept will be explored from many perspectives, including its importance in creative learning, playfulness in performative relationships to audience and the ‘play’ as a written text for interpretation. Understanding issues such as climate change, sustainable development and biodiversity requires knowledge about the political, moral and societal dimensions of environmental problems and solutions.

Samuel Beckett: Performance, Writing and Philosophy

Once you have submitted an application, the Admissions Office may contact you via King’s Apply to ask for further details on your qualification, such as a list of modules and course specifications. It offers an innovative approach to the study of politics and society, linking them with sociological and anthropological perspectives. Students develop key transferable skills which can lead to a variety of different careers.
